올해의 마지막 토마토

봄에 모종을 사다 심은 토마토와 고추는 제 몫을 똑똑히 하였다.

 

 

 

단호박

 

 

 

긴 잠마와 태풍으로 호박이 얼마 열리지 않았지만 이나마 썪은 것도 있다.

단호박 표면이 울퉁불퉁하고 꼭지도 시원찮아서 썪은 줄 알았는데 잘라보니 싱싱하다.

어제 진잠에 갔다가 돌아오는 길에 아랫잣디에 꽃밭이 멋진 집은 어떤 상태인지 일부러 지나가며 살펴보았다.

올 여름 긴 장마에 이에 3개의 태풍이 지나가서 꺾이고 찢어지기는 하였지만 그래도 우리집 꽃밭이 훨씬 풍성하게 느껴진다.

자화자찬인가?

토마토가 이렇게 많이 열리는 것은 짐작하지 못하였는데 이제는 끝났다.

성북동에 와 있는 동안 많이 먹었는데.....

 

 

 

옥수숫대는 모두 말라버렸지만 한 달 전에 옥수수를 따자마자 쪄서 냉동실에 보관했다가 지금도 간식으로 꺼내 먹고 있다.

아직도 맛있다.

내년에는 좀 더 많이 심을 생각이다. 

 

 

 

호박이 귀하다.

애호박이 하나 쯤 있을 만 한데 없다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

아내가 성북동에 계속 있었다면 김장용 배추와 무를 심을 수 있었을 텐데 이제는 시기가 지났다.

올해 농사지은 작물은 모두 수확을 마치고 고구마 캐기가 남아 있을 뿐이다.

성북동집에 오면 주차장에 있는 차를 보고 내가 와 있다는 것을 아는 분은 안다.

동네 친구들도 지나는 길에 내가 와 있다는 것을 다 알고 있을 터이니 집에 와서 한숨 돌리고 친구들에게 안부 전화연락을 하였다.

지난번 장맛비에 피해가 많았는데 장마가 끝나고 태풍이 3개나 지나갔으니....

벼가 쓰러지고 논둑이 쓸려 나가서 복구하느라 정신이 없단다.

거들 수 있는 나이도 아니고 인력이 아닌 장비로 복구 작업을 한다니 속히 복구하기를 바랄 뿐이다.
